The Jeremy Kyle Show is ITV's flagship day-time TV chat show hosted by Jeremy Kyle and produced by Granada Television (Manchester). It started in 2005 after ITV's morning chat show 'Trisha' moved to Five, and was nominated in the 2007 National Television Awards for "Most Popular Factual Programme" only losing out to BBC's Top Gear. The show has brought controversy to us since hitting our screens back in 2005, a Manchester District Judge called it a form of "Human Bear-Baiting" after a man head-butted a love rival. The show regularly becomes quite hostile and even aggressive. The shows alternate between four formats The Lie Detector Test (Used to confirm if someone has cheated in a relationship or has committed theft), The DNA Test (Used to confirm the identity of a child's parent), Rehab (Used when someone is abusing drugs or alcohol) and The Heart-warmer (Used to give hope to people with rare conditions or disabilities).
